A Chef Family Legacy – Shisen Hanten Szechwan Restaurant

Shisen Hanten Szechwan restaurant, led by executive chef Chen Kentaro at the Mandarin Orchard Singapore, has been awarded two stars in the Michelin guide Singapore 2018 for the third consecutive year.

Shisen Hanten was the first Sichuan restaurant in Japan, founded by chef Chen Kenmin, highly regarded as the father of Sichuan cuisine in Japan.

The Chen’s family culinary legacy was carried on by Iron Chef Chen Kenichi, eldest son of Chen Kenmin, who was credited with updated menu and expansion of Shisen Hanten all over Japan. Now the baton has been passed to chef Chen Kentaro, to take the helm of the much acclaimed Shisen Hanten Szechwan restaurant Singapore, featuring signature Sichuan as well as Cantonese dishes.
