Li River, Seen Through Artists’ Eyes

Cormorant fishing anyone? The iconic fisherman scene with resting cormorants on a bamboo raft is often closely associated with the Li River.

The Li River is a famous river in Guangxi, located in south central China. It flows 83 kilometres (52 miles) from Guilin to Yangshuo, with fantastic karst peaks lining down the river.

The enchanting mountains and waterway scenery has long been a favorite subject for landscape painters on various media – Shuimo, ink and color, oil on canvas.

When we view nature with the trained eyes of artists, we will have a more profound experience, and appreciate the beauty of nature at a whole new level.
